A Sinner's Prayer
03:08
|
|
||
Lord, oh Lord it's hard to express
The feelings in my heart.
Come open this heart
That yearns for Your
Mercy.
Refrain:
I've sinned, I've sinned, I've sinned against You and only You I've sinned against.
Send my sins into the sea;
Blameless in your eyes
Hear this cry, it comes from inside
Drowned out by my
Guilt.
Refrain

|||
The mistakes i've made are like scars that I carry
I'm not proud of this life, my burdens are many
In the midst of the storm your promises carry me through
They carry me through
O wretched man that I am who shall deliver me?
From the body of this death, who shall deliver me?
Break me, mold me, rearrange, and make something new
You make all things new
*2 Cor. 5:17*
Refrain:
If any man be in Christ he is a new creature
Old things are passed away
All things are become new (x2)
All things are become new
Though the world around me happy may seem
The peace that it bears it temporary
The remedy for a sin cursed world today is you
Is only you
Refrain:
*Spoken Word Poem*
Just as the babe is born perfect and innocent
Christ makes all things new for you
The rose petal wrinkles and fades with winter's breath
But new life blooms from death with spring's warm kiss
You are the rose that God cherishes
And although you made be marred with thorns from this life
God breathes on us cold winter to fade our old man
And the sharp bite that frost brings
Is followed with a soft kiss of new life
You can be made new but there will thorns and there will be winter
But more importantly there will maker that tends and cares for you
Refrain:

Tracing*
04:40
|
|
||
When I was a child,
I used to trace beautiful pictures
Of flowers and animals and maybe
a car here and there …
I used to trace things
Because i didn't know how to draw;
My hand usually made a mess of lead and paper.
But as time passed i grew out
Of tracing and drawing and
I focused my mind on things like:
Music, and how it made me feel;
On things like:
I want to go to the beach to have some fun
But usually just to feed my eyes with all the girls;
(Hey can i get your number?)
on things like:
This life is too hard, too boring
Lets consume something.
You see
I used to live inside a box.
A restriction box.
My feet were chained my hands cuffed,
I was a slave to a rotten flesh know as “self”
To a body that obeyed wealth.
Wealth in what?
Wealth in pride
Wealth in a pair of lying lips and selfishness.
What a wretched human being I was.
And then one day someone said,
"look yonder at that cross"
And I turned and looked and what I saw
Was not a cross but a giant heart.
My pride
My lips
My wealth in selfishness
Were all drowned under the mere shadow of that heart.
The weight.
The power.
Ahhh, what love!
Alas, I am free!
Alas, I am clean!
And the chains on my hands and feet
Hissed and fled like scolded snakes.
And on beautiful days like this I reminisce and think
Of the shout of freedom I gave
As I took my first step
Into a life worth living with both feet out.
And now as a man im trying to trace again
Not tracing an animal or flower but tracing the very footsteps of Jesus himself
In detail.
You see, I want to walk like he did.
Make my body the canvas
And take a rainbow of colors and paint
The very portrait of him on me.
I want to get rid of every last bit of me
Because I know that Jesus is the answer
My flesh is the cancer;
Take this heart of stone away
'cause it was never beating anyways.
You see when I thought I had life, I was dead
But Christ has given me a heart of flesh instead
And I want to use it like he did
I want to travel to distant places like he did
I want my life’s testimony to bless the city and its people
I want to know that the aches in my feet are from a missionary’s life working
I want to feed the hungry
I want to share the water of life with those that are thirsty
I want to give hope to the hopeless
I want to bring light to the darkness
I want to search and find those that are lost
I am willing to do anything for the creator
Even if my own life is the cost
Because before I am Mexican-American
Before I am a U.S. Citizen
Before I am a College student
I am a Christian
I am a disciple living with both feet out.

Right, Left (x2)
I’m panting for breath
I’m staring at my own feet
Thinking, when will this end?
Thinking, a race? What race?
Thinking, a war? What war?
I want to go home…
Because as I go door to door
I get “No’s” for “Hello’s”
I get “Not interested” here’s a slammed door
I get “Sorry, the owner is not home”
And last but not least I get,
“No tengo dinero”.
Hmmmmm… yikes
Right, Left (x2)
*Knock Knock*
(Hi, my name is…)
*Slam*
Gahhhh! It’s too hard, Lord!
Im too tired, Lord!
Don’t you get it?
Don’t you understand?
That nobody wants books, Lord?
Right, Left (x2)
And the Lord God replied:
Ahhhh, Child! Don’t you know?
Don’t you see?
That the steps you take are mirrored
Images of the ones I took for you!
That the sweat on your brow
Was carried on my face first!
That you ARE in a race and you are winning, my child. (Right/Left)
That you are a mighty arrow in my hand! (Right/Left)
A weapon of mass destruction in this great controversy! (Right/Left)
A soldier suited for the frontlines. (Right/Left)
You are mine, and so are they
Don’t you ever forget that.
So take what is in your hand, child
And run! Run for me!
Make sure your hands and feet speak of eternity
And take hold of my hand,
So when you come across a “No Soliciting” sign
You have the strength to reach for the door and knock,
Instead of reaching for a simple door card.
So when you come across an angry mouth
Your lips can perform a dancing smile.
So when you come across the heartbroken
You can replace the old glue and tape that once held it together.
Are you willing, my child?
Will you light your world?
Don’t ever give up.
I never gave up on you,
And now you are mine
And so are they
Don’t ever forget that.

Cuantos Dias Mas?
02:42
|
|
||
Hoy hable con mi papi y me dijo
que pronto vendrá; pronto vendra
Me mando mil abrasitos
El me prometio que pronto vendrá.
Pues esta peleando muy lejos
En la guerra por mi y mami
Estoy contando los días
Cuando regresara? Cuantos dias mas
Para verlo cara a cara?
El me prometio que pronto vendrá
Hoy hable con mi papi y me dijo
que pronto vendrá; pronto vendra
Me mando mil besitos
Alli estare; alli estare
Hoy hable con mi papi y me dijo
Alli estare; preparate.
Vengo por ti, mi hijo
Ya no tendrás que esperar ni contar días
Yo hare todo nuevo
Estaré contigo y tu conmigo
Por la eternidad juntos
Nunca para separar jamas.

Love
02:28
|
|
||
Could we with ink the ocean fill,
Were every blade of grass a quill,
Were the world of parchment made,
And every man a scribe by trade,
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor would the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.

For he shall grow up
Before him as a tender plant,
And as a root out of a dry ground:
He hath no form nor comeliness;
And when we shall see him,
Refrain:
There is no beauty that we should desire him.
